U14

Our under 14 boys played very well. They managed to knock the Shumba wickets for only 74 runs. The bowling front was led by Edward Sigauke who took 4 wickets. Our boys got to bat and chased the target without losing a single wicket. Shingirai Manyarara scored 52 runs not out to seal home Hillcrest Victory.

U15

Marondera High chose to field first and this gave our boys energy to set a massive target which they did. The combined effort of the team managed to reach 318 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Tawanda Tanyanyiwa broke a record and scored 139 runs. History made there. Whilst Ryan Ndoro scored 83 runs. It seemed too tough for the Shumbas to chase the score and indeed it was. Ryan Ndoro took 6 wickets in 2 overs and another 2 wickets in his 4th over whilst Tawanda Tanyanyiwa took a spectacular catch to seal home victory. Marondera High was bowled out for 30 runs.

Man of the match: Ryan Ndoro. Special mention to Tawanda Tanyanyiwa for breaking a record with 139 runs.

1ST TEAM

After hinting them at the T20 tournament last year at watershed, the Shumbas swallowed a bitter pill on Saturday. Marondera High Shumbas batted first and where bowled all out for 145 runs. Ashton Munene had an amazing economy rate with 2 wickets for 30 in 6.3, whilst Munopa Muneta had 2 for 33 in 7. The leopards handled the chase with ease and lost only 4 wickets to win the game by 6 wickets. Tinashe Mutseriwa scored his first half century this year with a total of 62 runs.
